Action Summary

An incomplete list of things you can do, broken into the time and position necessary to do them. Players can indicate Orders and downtime actions they've committed to with the :ledger: emoji.

Player Actions

Depending on the situation, player characters can:

And so on.

Team Leader Actions

In addition to the player character actions above, Team Leaders can issue Orders, which can include:

Advancing time requires the agreement of all Team Leaders and Captains in the same system. Starting a 1d10 month Downtime requires the agreement of all Team Leaders and Captains.

Player Downtime Actions

These actions take more time, and must be performed during downtime.

Generally speaking, each player can only make one or two actions during downtime. Talk to the Warden to see what makes sense for the situation.

Team Leader Downtime Actions

In addition to the player character Downtime Actions above, Team Leaders can issue Orders to:

Downtime is an ideal time to make Jumps and in-system travel, as months of advancement will chew through the distance. For simplicity, each Jump takes 1 month during downtime.

At the end of Downtime, all systems and Crews will be synchronized to the same time. They'll probably become de-synchronized shortly afterward, but that's alright.

1 Making a Jump during uptime is a little weird for the time-tracking. It's a lot smoother to wait for downtime, but there might be some circumstances where that's not possible, or you want to get a head start. To make the jump, the ship and crew will advance past the local time to reach the Jump Point (1 week), spend time in the Jump (1d10 days), then arrive and synchronize to the local time. If there is already another crew in the other system, the ship may need to wait for time to advance (1 week) in order to complete a move from the arrival Jump Point to a nearby planet. We'll figure it out.

2 Downtime opens up the possibility for downtime actions, played out on the scale of months. Characters can change, long-term consequences may occur, and factions may pursue objectives.
